What Got You Here Won’t Get You There

If you’re serious about growth, there comes a point when working harder isn’t enough.

Whether it be business, the corporate ladder, or any other goal or aspiration, eventually growth requires another approach… work on the person building it.

Because your business grows as far as you are willing and able to grow.

This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot recently as I’ve stepped more deeply into the world of business networking.

I meet ambitious people everywhere.

People building businesses.

Leading teams.

Creating something from nothing.

Providing for their families.

Pursuing big ideas.

Trying to make an impact.

They have goals. They have drive. They have a growth mindset.

And I love that.

But I’ve started to see something else.

If you bring the same version of yourself to the next level… growth will be weighed down by old behavioural patterns, beliefs and ideas.

What happens when what got you here won't get you there?

You can learn another strategy.
Read another book.
Take another course.
Hire another coach.
Work harder.

And sometimes, that's exactly what's needed.

But sometimes the thing standing between you and your next level isn't a lack of knowledge.

It's an old way of operating.

It's you.

Not because there is anything wrong with you.

But because you are still operating from beliefs, patterns, fears and conditioning that were formed long before you consciously decided what you wanted your life to become.

You can consciously say:

I want more.

While another part of you is quietly saying:

More isn't safe.

Don't take that risk.

Who do you think you are?

Stay where you are.

This is good enough.

And often, you don't even know those programs are running.

This is where I believe spiritual tools become incredibly practical.

Know Thyself

The Ancient Path of Know Thyself

The ancient instruction Know Thyself isn't about sitting in a cave contemplating your navel.

It's about understanding what is actually driving you.

What belongs to you.

What doesn't.

Which challenges are calling you to grow.

Which patterns are simply repeating themselves.

Which desires are genuinely yours.

And which ones were handed to you by your family, your culture, your conditioning or your idea of what a successful life is supposed to look like.

Because there is a profound difference between creating your life and simply becoming very successful at living the life you were programmed to want.

And eventually, most people who are committed to growth reach this point.

They ask:

Is this actually my life?

And if it is...

Is this actually as far as I can go?

Business is Personal

We often talk about business as though it exists separately from the person running it.

It doesn't.

Your business is influenced by how you think.

How you make decisions.

How you respond to pressure.

How you handle uncertainty.

How you communicate.

How much you are willing to receive.

How you respond when things don't go according to plan.

How you value yourself.

How you manage your energy.

And what you believe is possible for you.

So when you change, your business can change too.

Not because spirituality is some magic formula for business success.

But because you are the instrument through which your business is created.

Change the instrument, and you change what is possible.

And this is where spiritual tools come in

When I talk about Spiritual Tools, I'm not talking about escaping reality.

I'm talking about becoming more capable of meeting reality.

Meditation can help you step out of the noise and hear yourself more clearly.

Ritual can help you consciously direct your energy rather than constantly reacting to everything demanding your attention.

Foundational teachings can give you a framework for understanding yourself and the patterns that shape your life.

DNA Activations can support you in opening to greater potential.

Lineage Healings can work with deeper patterns and energies that may be influencing how you move through the world.

And the Path of Know Thyself gives you something even more important:

a path forward.

Because growth isn't just about adding more.

Sometimes growth is about removing what no longer belongs.

Busy isn't the problem

I actually like being busy.

I like having a lot happening.

I like having something to build towards.

I like ambition.

I like people who want to do something with their lives.

But there is a difference between being busy because you're moving towards something meaningful...

and being busy because you've become trapped in an endless cycle of “I have to.”

Another email.

Another meeting.

Another deadline.

Another problem to solve.

Another person to please.

Another thing on the list.

Until one day you look up and realise you've become incredibly efficient at doing things that don't actually matter that much.

Spiritual practice can interrupt that.

It can bring you back above the noise.

It can help you ask:

What actually matters here?

What am I creating?

Why am I creating it?

And who am I becoming in the process?

That last question might be the most important one.

Because the goal isn't simply to have more

More money.

More clients.

More freedom.

More recognition.

More growth.

More success.

Those things can be wonderful.

But if you achieve more while remaining disconnected from yourself, what have you actually gained?

For me, the deeper question is:

Can I become more of myself as I create more of my life?

Can I build a business without losing myself in it?

Can I be ambitious without being driven by fear?

Can I navigate challenges without allowing them to define me?

Can I recognise when something is asking me to grow—and when something is simply asking me to let go?

Can I become more powerful without becoming harder?

Can I become more successful without becoming further removed from what actually matters?

These are spiritual questions.

But they are also very practical human questions.

Your next level is already within you

This is ultimately what drew me so deeply into the work of the Modern Mystery School.

I discovered tools that helped me understand something I hadn't fully understood before:

The potential I'm looking for isn't somewhere outside of me.

It is already within me.

The work is learning how to access it.

How to clear what obscures it.

How to strengthen my connection to it.

How to live from it.

And this is why I believe Spiritual Tools have a place in business.

Not instead of strategy.

Not instead of action.

Not instead of ambition.

Alongside them.

Because you can learn everything there is to learn about building a business...

but at some point, the question becomes much bigger than business.

It becomes:

Who are you becoming?

And what becomes possible when you stop trying to build the next level of your life with the limitations of your current self?

That is where the real growth begins.
